Bicycle Day

Bicycle Day is April 19, commemorating April 19, 1943, when Dr. Albert Hofmann first took his invention LSD intentionally. Three days earlier, he'd absorbed a small amount of the drug through his fingertips. On Bicycle Day, he took 250µg of LSD and, fearing he had made himself ill, bicycled home from his lab. He wrote about his expirements and experience on April 22, which was later put into his book LSD: My Problem Child.

See LSD: Early history: synthesis.
