Beset



         


In Egyptian mythology, Beset was a goddess who protected mankind against snakes and other animals, evil beings and demons and bad luck. She was a goddess of pleasure, music, dance and the other arts. She was usually depicted with a long tongue, deformed legs and some (tail, mane and ears) parts of lion. She was masculinized as Bes.
