Bernard Heuvelmans (born 1916) was the founder of the science of cryptozoology, an explorer, a researcher, and a writer on the subject. His revolutionary pioneering across the world's oceans for the great beasts that inhabit them, was to substantiate the rumors and legends about animals known to local people but still unknown to science.
