Benjamin Harrison V (April 5,1726-April 24,1791) of Virginia was one of the 56 signatories to the American Declaration of Independence. He represented Virginia in the Continental Congress from 1774 to 1777. Harrison served as Governor of Virginia for three terms, beginning in 1785. He was the father of President William Henry Harrison and the great-grandfather of President Benjamin Harrison.
Harrison lived all his life at Berkeley Plantation, the Harrison family home in Virginia, as did his son President William Henry Harrison.
