Basil Fawlty is the fictional owner/manager of the Fawlty Towers hotel, subject of a comedy series on BBC television. Basil Fawlty was played by the actor and comedian John Cleese. Basil Fawlty's hotel management was idiosyncratic, to say the least, and resulted in a series of shows that are still regularly repeated on television, and ensure a livelihood for at least one "look-alike" actor.
