Barrhead is a small town in East Renfrewshire, Scotland, 8 miles southwest of Glasgow on the edge of the Gleniffer Braes. The town was formed when a series of small textile villages (Barrhead, Arthurlie, Grahamston and Gateside) gradually grew into one-another to form one contiguous town. In recent years, Barrhead has become a popular residential commuter town of nearby Paisley and Glasgow.
Barrhead is also a small town in the Canadian province of Alberta. It houses the province's correspondence school, its official bird is the Blue Herron, and it's not very large (4200 people). We do have a new A & W restaurant that we're quite proud of, however.
