Bantu expansion is the process of Bantu speaking peoples expanding over most of the southern part of Africa. Today it is widely accepted that Bantu speaking peoples were not the first peoples in the southern third of Africa. Most linguists see the region around eastern Nigeria and Cameroon as the first center of the Bantu expansion.
