Balto is a 1995 animated movie starring Kevin Bacon as the voice of the dog Balto. The story is based on the 1925 transport of anti-diphtheria serum from Anchorage, Alaska, to Nome, Alaska via dog sled, to combat an outbreak of the disease, which is commemorated by the annual Iditarod dog sled race.
