Azurite



         


Azurite is a carbonate mineral.

Chemical Composition - Cu3(CO3)2(OH)2, Copper Carbonate Hydroxide.

The name Azurite comes from the Arabic word for blue, and it has been used as a pigment for centuries. Used in jewellery, and also collected as a beautiful specimen crystal. Azurite is often found in association with malachite.
