Australoid describes the race of humans primarily from Australia, and was one of the four major races as recognized by 19th century racial theories. The group includes the Australian Aborigines, the Veddahs of Ceylon, the pre-Dravidian people of India, and perhaps the Negritos from Southeast Asia. See also:
