Atco Records
Atco Records is a United States based record label. Atco was a sub-label of Atlantic Records, started by Herb Abramson in 1955 as an outlet for artists and groups who didn't fit with it's parent label. The name Atco is simply an abbreviation of ATlantic COrporation.
Atco distributed artists on Robert Stigwood's RSO Records.
Some of the best known Atco artists are Sonny and Cher, Blind Faith, Eric Clapton, Yes.
The last number one hit by Atco was Sweet Sensation in 1990, afterwards Atco stopped releasing new records and is only used to re-release it's old discs.
