Asrar-i-Khudi

Secrets of the Self (Persian: Asrar-i-Khudi) is a book written by Allama Muhammad Iqbal.

The term "Khudi" (from Persian) is based on the idea that a person should know exactly what his/her abilities and potentials in this life are and how these can be used for the good of all mankind

One of the most famous lines of verse from Iqbal incorporates this idea thus:

"Raise your Self to such heights

That God should ask Man

What do you want your destiny to be"

At another place Iqbal describes the importance of "Khudi" as

"Self is nothing but a boundless Ocean

There is no recourse if you think it is a little stream"

Another book written by Iqbal on the same topic is "Rumuz-e-Bekhudi" (Secrets of Selflessnes)
