The Arena APS is an active countermeasure system developed by the Russian military to provide anti-missile defense for their T-90 tanks. It uses millimeter wave radar to detect incoming projectiles, then fires a defensive mortar at the incoming round, timed to detonate immediately in front of the target.
The system cost is approximately $300,000.
