Antoine (June 4 1489 ? June 14 1544), known as the Good, was Duke of Lorraine from 1508 to his death. In 1515 married Renée of Bourbon-Montpensier, sister of Duke Charles III of Bourbon.
Antoine was an adept of the Counter reformation. During his rule, he quelched some popular revolts and watched the king of France occupy the capital cities of the three bishoprics of Lorraine: Metz, Toul and Verdun. In the end of the Thirty Years War, Lorraine would definitely loose these cities to France.
