Anderlecht within the Brussels-Capital Region

Anderlecht is one of the nineteen municipalities located in the Brussels-Capital Region of Belgium. On January 1st, 2000 the municipality had a total population of 87,812 (42,094 males and 45,718 females). The total area is 18.10 km² which gives a population density of 4,851.49 inhabitants per km². There are several historically and architecturally distinct districts within the Anderlecht municipality. One of the most interesting ones is called Het Rad (in Dutch), or La Roue (in French).

Anderlecht is the home of the football club R.S.C. Anderlecht.
