Alewife Station (Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority)

Alewife Station, located at the intersection of Fresh Pond Parkway and Rindge Avenue, in Cambridge, Massachusetts is a local transportation hub. It opened on March 30, 1985. Its facilities include:

• the northern terminus of the Boston subway's Red Line
• a bus terminal for several local routes
• a multi-level parking garage with a direct connection to Route 2 at Exit 61.
• bicycle parking
• connections to the Minuteman Bikeway and the Somerville Community Path
• pedestrian access to East Arlington, via the Minuteman Bike Path and Thorndike Street in Arlington.
• a small food court and waiting area

• the Rindge Avenue Extension office park
• Alewife Reservation , a wetlands conservation area with walking trails, adjacent to the station on the north side.
