Aleksei Alekseevich Brusilov (Алексей Алексеевич Брусилов) (August 19, 1853 - March 17, 1926) is a Russian cavalry general most noted for the development of a militaly offensive tactic used in Brusilov offensive. Brusilov offensive was probably the most successful campaign during the World War I.
Brusilov was born in Tiflis (now Tbilisi, Georgia). During World War I Brusilov served as a commander of the 8th Army, later as a commander of the South-West Front. After 1917 revolution Brusilov worked for the Red Army but has not accupied positions of significance. He died in Moscow from hart paralisis.
