Agbani Darego

Born Ibiagbanidokibubo Asenite Darego, and affectionately known as "Agbani," she was given the title of Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria in 2001. She was actually the runner up in the contest and later given the title after the original titleholder was disqualified.

She was given the chance to represent Nigeria in the prestigious and entertaining Miss Universe competition, held in Bayamon, Puerto Rico. She placed among the top 10 semi-finalists, finishing a seventh.

She won the less-prestigious and controversy-ridden Miss World pageant held in South Africa.

She is currently pursuing a modelling career in Europe, with attempts to break out in North America.
