The AEG C.IV was a two-seat biplane reconnaissance aircraft based on the C.II but featuring a larger wingspan. This was easily the most successful of AEG's World War I B- and C-type reconnaissance aircraft, with some 400 being built and remaining in service right up to the end of the war.
A variant, the C.IVN was designed specifically as a night bomber and the type proved successful in this role as well.
