Adrian Mutu (born January 8 1979) is a Romanian football player born in Călineşti, Argeş county.
He started playing for FC Arges Dacia in 1996, then signed for Dinamo Bucharest scoring 18 goals in 17 games and was noticed by Inter Milan, then Hellas Verona and Parma A.C. in 2002.
In the 2002/2003 season, when he scored 18 goals in 30 games for Parma A.C., he was considered the best foreign striker of the Italian league. In the summer of 2003, Chelsea F.C. paid Parma A.C. a $19.32 million transfer fee and signed Adrian to a contract.
