The Acura RSX is a car made by Acura as the replacement for the Acura Integra coupe. It is available in two trims: base and Type-S. It is known as the Honda Integra in Japan.
The Acura RSX was Acura's first attempt to move its products more upscale. Designing a whole new platform shared with the Honda Civic, Honda engineers built a much more luxurious car than the Integra.
The RSX has McPhearson struts, a disappointment to many hardcore Honda fans who had grown up with double wishbone suspensions. However, the K series engine was one that tuners delightfully reveled in. The engine features intelligent VTEC or (i-VTEC) which gives the 2.0 liter engine a much flatter torque curve and smoother horsepower transition.
The base RSX has the K motor in 160 hp guise while Type S has a 200 hp variant mated to a 6 speed manual.
The Honda Integra Type R, sold in Japan, has a 220 hp K engine, as well as a LSD (limited slip differential) and stiffer springs and shocks. Rumor has it that Acura will import the Japanese version to the U.S. soon.
