Ace

This article is about the playing card. For alternate uses see Ace (disambiguation).

An ace is a playing card. In the standard deck, an ace has one suit symbol (a heart, a diamond, a spade, a club) in the center of the card, sometimes large and decorated, especially in the case of the ace of spades, which also often bears the name or emblem of the deck's printer. In most card games, aces have the highest value of all cards in a suit; in some, the lowest. In games where the aces have the highest value, the ace of spades is occasionally played as a trump card, in that it beats everything, even other aces. In blackjack an ace can have a value of one or eleven.
