Abraham Zapruder (May 15, 1905 - August 30, 1970) filmed the most famous amateur movie footage ever when he recorded US President John F. Kennedy's motorcade traveling through Dealey Plaza in Dallas, Texas, and wound up capturing on film the entire John F. Kennedy assassination.
Zapruder used a then-top-of-the-line Model 414 PD Bell & Howell Zoomatic Director Series movie camera he had bought in September 1962. His film footage is known as the "Zapruder film".
Zapruder died in 1970 of cancer in Dallas.
