The television crime drama The District aired on CBS from October 7, 2000 to May 1, 2004. The series stars Craig T. Nelson, Jonathan LaPaglia (joined the cast the second season), Elizabeth Marvel, Roger Aaron Brown, Lynne Thigpen (died before the last season), and Sean Patrick Thomas.
In 2001 Jean Smart was nominated for an Emmy Award for "Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama Series" for her role as "Sherry Regan".
