Skippy Squirrel
The bouncy and bubbly nephew of aging ex-cartoon star Slappy Squirrel. Together, with size and coloration--Slappy grey, Skippy brown--they appear to be an homage to Robert McKimson's "Rabbit's Kin", which pitted Bugs Bunny and a baby rabbit against a stupid, horselaughing puma named Pete(Stan Freberg). Skippy's catchphrase was "Speeeeew!", uttered at vile things like his aunt's disgusting bunions and her love of buttermilk. He loves his aunt dearly and even tried to nurse her back to health when she lost her mind in the bittersweet 22-minute Animaniacs episode "One Flew Over the Cuckoo Clock", a parable of the struggle of a family against senile dementia.
