Robert Frank



         


Robert Frank, born November 9, 1924 in Zürich, Switzerland, is an important figure in American photography. His most notable work, the 1958 photographic book titled simply The Americans, was heavily influential in the post-war period in its skeptical attitude towards American society.

Frank eventually moved away from photography to concentrate on making films, among them the 1958 Beat collaboration, Pull My Daisy.
