Pringles are a potato chip snack produced by Procter and Gamble. They were introduced in 1968. According to the , they were invented by Alexander Liepa of Montgomery, Ohio (a suburb of Cincinnati) and are "A potato chip product and process wherein a dough is prepared from dehydrated cooked potatoes and water and subsequently fried."
They are known for their packaging, which consists of an upright tubular cans with a foil interior, and a plastic lid on top that can be resealed. The chips are of uniform size and a uniform saddle shape, so they stack efficiently within the container.
Pringles come in several flavors and occasionally have limited edition runs. The cans are often, but not always, labeled as such. Some flavors may be limited simply as they are only carried in certain markets ; for example a salsa-flavored chip, although good, may only be in places A or B.
Because of the metallic interior and long tubular shape, the cans have been used to make Wi-Fi network antennas. Some fans of the chip brand collect the empty holders, which are colorful, uniform and easy in which to store items.
Seasonal flavors, past and present include: katsup, chili cheese dog and cajun. The slogan of pringles is "Once you pop, you can't stop" Prrringles...
