Position

The word position can have one of several meanings:

2-dimensional or 3-dimensional location;

In finance, a position means entitlement to receive or obligation to deliver an asset or financial instrument, as in "long position" (ownership) and "short position" (obligation to deliver);

In politics and government a position is a formally stated opinion on a well defined issue;

Positioning in marketing;

A sex position refers to the postures during sexual intercourse. See list of sex positions.

A body position can be a non-sexual posture of the human body, such as the fetal position or positions in yoga.
