Hong Kong competed as Hong Kong, China at the 2004 Summer Olympics. As a Special Administrative Region, Hong Kong was allowed a separate delegation from that of the People's Republic of China. In its 12th appearance at the Summer Olympics, Hong Kong sent a contingent of 33 athletes to compete in 10 sports.
In the 2004 Olympics, Hong Kong Team won it second medal ever: a silver medal in table tennis, after a gold by Lai Shan Lee in the 1996 games.
