Governor-General of Korea

The Governor-General of Korea was the head of the Japanese colony of Korea from 1910 to 1945.

From 1905 to 1910 Korea was a protectorate of Japan and Japanese interests were represented by a Resident-General.

After 1945 the Governorate was succeeded by a U S–Soviet Joint Occupation under two military Governors of Korea (U S and Soviet).

The Governor–General was based at the Kyongbuk Palace in Seoul.
