George Halsey Perley



         


The Right Honourable Sir George Halsey Perley (September 12 1857 - January 4 1938) was a Canadian politician. Perley was a wealthy scion of an Ottawa lumber family. He was first elected to the Canadian House of Commons as a Conservative MP in 1904 and served as High Commissioner to the United Kingdom Minister of the Overseas Military Forces in the World War I government of Sir Robert Borden. He subsequently served as Secretary of State for Canada in the 1926 government of Arthur Meighen and Minister without Portfolio in the government of R.B. Bennett.
