G4 (channel)

G4 is a cable television channel devoted to the world of video games and the people who play them. G4 launched in April 2002. It is headquartered in Los Angeles, California and is owned by Comcast.

Geared toward viewers aged 12-34, G4 is considered by some as the leading source of entertainment and information about everything game - from video to online to computer to wireless. The network airs in 15 million homes in 47 of the top 50 DMA in the United States on Comcast, Time Warner, Cox, Insight, Mediacom, Bright House Networks and RCN cable systems.

On March 25, 2004, G4 announced a merger with TechTV, creating a new channel called G4techTV. This merger caused high amounts of mixed sentiment among viewers of both channels, seeing the removal of several shows and the layoff of many employees.
