The French are a Latin/Celtic/Germanic ethnic group primarily associated with France and the French language.
There are around 60 million autochthonous French people in France, around 1.38 million in Switzerland, as well as some smaller groups in Belgium or in Algeria.
There is a notable French diaspora in former French colonies.
