Detroit rock

Detroit rock is a name for a style of Australian indie rock, particularly popular in Sydney in the 1980s.

The style was popularised and heavily influenced by Radio Birdman, who formed in Sydney but were led by Deniz Tek, a Detroit, Michigan native, and also influenced by such Detroit bands as the Stooges and the MC5.
