Basic process

A Basic Process is a w:phenomenon which is one of the elemental building blocks of w:reality. Natural and industrial processes utilize basic processes such as w:sorting, amplification, and w:flow.

Fundamental units of w:measurement such as w:time, w:distance, w:velocity, w:mass, and w:weight can be considered basic processes. Rigorous analysis might insist that one should include only fundamental units as opposed to derivitive units (which can be defined in terms of fundamental units.)

But reality is more than w:physics. For example one might speak of the flow of time, using the basic process of w:metaphor. Or one might speak of broad fields such as w:history or w:communication.

In w:journalism the basic process of w:description of an w:event is broken down into what or w:pattern, when or w:time, where or w:location, who or w:identity and how or w:process.

It is theorized that four w:fundamental forces are responsible for all interaction.
