Arne Jacobsen



         


Arne Jacobsen (February 11, 1902 - March 24, 1971) was a Danish architect and designer.

Among his architectural achievements are St Catherine's College, Oxford and work at Merton College, Oxford. In his own country he designed the Danish National Bank, Copenhagen, as well as a number of town halls and other buildings. Jacobsen has created a number of highly original chairs and other furniture. He has received several international distinctions and medals.
