The Right Honourable Sir Angus James Bruce Ogilvy, KCVO, is a member of the British Royal Family through his marriage to Her Royal Highness Princess Alexandra of Kent, whom he married on the April 24 1963 at Westminster Abbey, London in a ceremony attended by the entire Royal Family.
Angus is the second son of David Ogilvy, 12th Earl of Airlie and the former Lady Alexandra Coke (daughter of Thomas Coke, 3rd Earl of Leicester). He was born on September 14, 1928 in London. By Princess Alexandra, he has two children:
Angus was created a Knight Commander of the Royal Victorian Order in 1989 by Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom, his wife's first cousin. In 1997 he was granted a knighthood and made a Privy Councillor.
As Princess Alexandra undertakes Royal duties, Sir Angus sometimes accompanies her. He also attends major royal occasions with his wife. However he missed the funeral of Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother due to ill health.
