Historic Angus
This article is about the region in Scotland. Angus can also refer to Angus cattle or to a film (Angus) about an overweight boy who is humiliated by his peers. In Celtic mythology, Angus is an alternative spelling for Aengus, the legendary hero.

Angus is one of the historic counties and also one of 32 unitary council regions in Scotland and a Lieutenancy Area. The unitary council region borders onto Aberdeenshire, Perth and Kinross and the City of Dundee. Main industries: agriculture and fishing.

The traditional county borders Kincardineshire to the north-east, Aberdeenshire to the north, Perthshire to the west. Southwards, it faces Fife across the Firth of Tay.
